Mike Lee and Thomas Sha want to make a positive impact on the world by making education more efficient and effective. Through a directory of websites, mobile apps and desktop software — rated and reviewed by educators, for educators — they are “decreasing the friction” of using and procuring effective technology for the classroom. The way they tell it, in the winter of 2011, two educators told them how enthusiastically exasperated they were of the growing digital revolution of education technology. “They wanted a simple way to know which tools were most effective for their needs. edshelf is the result of that collaboration. ’Go build this, please,’ they said. We did. And we’ve been working with them, and other educators, ever since.” Check out the directory for yourself. We think it’s a very cool tool. Your thoughts?
