Trends | No Child Held Back

Here’s a fresh take to an old problem: instead of an emphasize on No Child Left Behind, how about No Child Held Back? What if we focused on helping all children reach their maximum potential instead of just reducing failure rates? That’s exactly what one organization is up to with a campaign, website, discussion, guidelines, a course and a white paper outlining just how to do that. The organization seeks to promote:

  • Student-centered learning
  • One-on-one mentoring
  • Outstanding teachers
  • Excellent instructional content
  • Parent and student empowerment
  • Connecting schools with communities
  • Increased course variety
  • Robust professional development and
  • Smart technology support

…and is enlisting support from individual educators, organizations and technology solution providers in and around education. What are your thoughts?
